Welcome to Canada:
Canada is a beautiful land. With his wonderful mountains, plains, waterfalls and lakes. It is a paradise by nature lovers.
The nature is by the biggest part intact. Because just 11% of the Canada?s ground is developed. There live in Canada people from all over the world. Canada is the biggest land from the world when we not count Rusland. It?s almost as great as Europe.
The neighbor lands are the US, Alaskans and Greenland.
In 1999 there live 30.287.000 people in Canada.
History:
The first people of Canada stemmed out of the end from the ice time.
These were Indians and Inuit. The first whites that came to Canada were the Vikings from Iceland and Greenland.
The language:
Since 1969 English and French have been the two official languages of Canada.
French is the mother language for 24% of the people of Canada, because Canada was discovered by a Frenchman, his name is Jacques Cartier.
The other languages that are spoken are German, Italian, Ukraine?s, the Mandarins, the Vietnamese and the Hindu.
Canadian English is very different from the American English.
They have kept a lot of the British vocabulary and grammar.
For example: colour, in American color or centre, in American center.
