Boekverslag: A Night Out
Outline:
The main character is Albert Stokes, a man who's 28 and still lives with his mother. His father died when he was young, his grandmother too. His mother always makes him feel guilty, she always remembers him of the fact that she's home alone and that he must not go out. That's the reason that he's very shy and he rarely goes out.
Albert works for an insurance company, and one night, there's a party to honor his boss. His mother heavily protests against Albert going away, Albert denies this and threatens his mother with a clock when she tells him she is worried, but Albert is going to the party. At the party, two women are playing a game with Albert, they're trying to seduce him, Albert denies it and he walks away. Then a woman screams and she says Albert assaulted her. Albert gets out of the building and he fights with two other guys. After this, he walks back home, and a hooker picks him up. The hooker talks much too much and she lies too, so Albert tells her to shut up. Then he tells his whole life story to the woman.
