Boekverslag: Op-Center
Tom Clancy?s Op-Center is a novel written by Tom Clancy. It was first published in 1995, and it is a sort of techno-thriller. It?s a real thriller in which there happens a lot with computers.
It is one of the most gripping stories I have ever read. It is interesting from the beginning until the end.
The American Government established Op-Center, and we learn a lot about the people working for Op-Center. Op-Center was set up to help in world crisis. North and South Korea are on the point of beginning a war. What has happened? There had been a bomb exploding at the place where there was a speech of some important South Koreans about the peace negotiations with North Korea. Many people had died and South Korea, but also the American president thinks that it was North Korea that caused the bomb explosion, direct or indirect. Op-Center has found some important evidence that it were some people of South Korea but the American president still doesn?t really believe them so they have to prove it.
You really understand what is going on because it is so realistic. The nicest part is when Op-Center has discovered who really committed the attack and when they try to stop them from firing three rockets at Japan. In the end Op-Center kills the generals of South Korea that wanted to create the war by causing the bomb explosion but they know not everyone has been killed so it has a kind of an open ending.
